KC’s Agronomy & Environmental Science program provides a blend of crop-related courses and practical application, ensuring a well-rounded agricultural education. The primary objectives of the program are to offer students technical knowledge in the areas of soils and fertilizers, pests and control procedures, and crop management. During the program, students obtain knowledge of current practices in crop production and technology within the production field, gaining confidence in producing locally grown crops. Upon graduation, students are prepared for successful careers, whether they choose to pursue position in the workplace or on the farm.

Upon completion of this program, students will be able to:

  • Explain industry best-practices across the spectrum of agriculture.
  • Apply key concepts of agricultural to provide solutions to common industry challenges and basic farm management.
  • Demonstrate the use of technological advancements and applications in agriculture and how those applications improve agricultural output and efficiency.
  • Demonstrate occupational and employability skill competency through a completed supervised occupational experience.
  • Construct effective agronomic and environmental plans that lead to efficient and profitable crop production strategies that align with industry best-practices and sustainability in agriculture.
  • Plan and critique the application precision agricultural strategies, hardware, and software that contribute to efficiency, profitability, and the regeneration of agricultural resources.

Students completing this degree must also complete curriculum requirements aligned with General Education Student Learning Outcomes.
