Nursing assistants provide basic care and assist patients with activities of daily living. CNA’s are the backbone of the healthcare industry, often spending more time with patients than other members of the healthcare team. CNAs complete common tasks: cleaning or bathing patients; helping patients use the toilet and dress; turning and repositioning patients; talking with patients and relaying patient concerns and information to nurses; measuring patients’ vital signs, and assisting patients with meals and self-care. Kaskaskia College’s CNA program is the first step to a rewarding healthcare career.
