The Infant-Toddler Level 3 Certificate will introduce students to child development, the principles of early childhood education, infant-toddler care and curriculum development. The courses within this certificate will focus on the principles and practices of early childhood education, child development, activity programming, health and safety for the young child, observation and assessment, the child, family, and community, and infant-toddler care and curriculum development. This certificate is intended for students who plan to transfer to a 4-year university. This certificate also enables students to gain the Level 3 credential for the program’s ExceleRate status. Students intending to transfer to a 4-year baccalaureate program must consult with a Kaskaskia College Academic Advisor. ECE courses are sequenced (fall/spring) and students beginning in the spring semester may take longer for completion of certificate.
The Infant-Toddler Level 3 Certificate will assist in immediate employment in early childhood education centers and be a foundation to career advancement as students continue their studies within the degree.
