The Kaskaskia College Board of Trustees held its regular monthly meeting on Monday, March 23, 2026, at 6:30 p.m. in the Lifelong Learning Center on the College's main campus. Trustees present included Bill Hawley (Odin), Louis Kalert (Centralia), Linda Stover (Centralia), Bryan Holthaus (Carlyle), and Laura Wedekemper (Shattuc). Trustees Craig Finke (Nashville), Jim Beasley (Centralia), and Student Trustee Meagan Mahlandt were absent.
An Evening of the Arts to Celebrate Kaskaskia College Student Talent

Kaskaskia College Hosts Successful 2026 High School Welding Competition

The Kaskaskia College Welding Program recently hosted its 2026 Annual High School Welding Competition at the Harry L. Crisp Manufacturing and Trades Center, welcoming 51 skilled student welders from across the region for three days of hands-on competition. Students representing Salem, Nashville, Okawville, New Approach, Odin, Sandoval, Mulberry Grove, Carlyle, Breese Central, Centralia, and Greenville High Schools participated in the annual event, demonstrating their welding knowledge and technical abilities in a competitive setting designed to highlight the growing importance of skilled trades. The competition was organized by Kaskaskia College Welding Professor Cory Wellen, with judging taking place March 9-11.
Kaskaskia College Theatre to Present Little Women: The Broadway Musical

Kaskaskia College Announces Graduation Date and Deadline

The Kaskaskia College Records Office has announced that this year's commencement ceremony will be held on the main campus on Friday, May 15, at 6:30 p.m. The ceremony will recognize students who graduated in December 2025, as well as those expected to graduate in May or July 2026.

Kaskaskia College Announces Earlier Date for Explore KC Day in 2026

Kaskaskia College is moving its annual Explore KC Day earlier in the calendar from April to February this year to give students more time to make decisions about their college education. Explore KC Day will be Feb. 27, 2026 and is an event for high schoolers to learn more about what KC offers, to meet with faculty, take tours of campus, and hear directly from current students in a Q&A panel.

Kaskaskia College to Host Saturday Enrollment Day on January 10

As the spring semester approaches, Kaskaskia College is making it easier than ever for students to get enrolled and ready for classes. KC will host a Special Saturday Enrollment Day on Saturday, January 10, from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the main campus and all KC education centers. The event is open to all new and continuing students needing assistance with admissions, advising, course registration, placement testing, or financial aid for the Spring 2026 semester.

Kaskaskia College Food Drive Collects 1,540 Items to Support KC Snack Station as Part of Statewide “Feed The Need” Campaign

Kaskaskia College recently concluded its annual districtwide food drive, collecting 1,540 items totaling 388 pounds to support the KC Snack Station, a resource that helps combat food insecurity for students at the Main Campus, each of the College's five education centers, and the Crisp Manufacturing & Trades Center. Additional items were donated to a local food bank, extending the reach of the effort into the surrounding community.
