Kaskaskia College Theatre to Present Little Women: The Broadway Musical

Centralia, IL - Kaskaskia College Theatre invites the community to experience Little Women: The Broadway Musical, a heartfelt stage adaptation of Louisa May Alcott's beloved classic. The production will take place in the Jane Knight Auditorium on the Kaskaskia College campus and features a talented cast of student performers bringing the story of the March sisters to life.
Set during the Civil War, Little Women follows the lives of sisters Meg, Jo, Beth, and Amy March as they grow up, pursue their dreams, and navigate the joys and challenges of family and adulthood. Filled with warmth, humor, and memorable music, the production celebrates resilience, creativity, and the enduring bonds of family.
Audiences will see the beloved March family portrayed by four talented actresses on the KC stage. Grace Hummel stars as Jo March, the spirited and ambitious writer determined to follow her dreams. Grace Edler portrays Meg March, the responsible and romantic eldest sister. Ivy Johnson takes on the role of Beth March, the gentle and compassionate heart of the family, while Olive Sue Johnson appears as Amy March, the artistic and determined youngest sister. Together, the four performers bring the story's emotion, humor, and hope to life.
Performances will be held in the Jane Knight Auditorium on the Kaskaskia College main campus on the following dates:
- Friday, March 27 at 7:00 p.m.
- Saturday, March 28, at 3:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m.
- Sunday, March 29, at 3:00 p.m.
Admission is $12 for general admission, $10 for seniors (65+), and $5 for students ages 17 and under. Kaskaskia College students are admitted free with a valid student ID. The Saturday afternoon performance at 3:00 PM will be offered as a Pay What You Can show. Community members are welcome to attend by contributing whatever amount they are able, or even attend at no cost to ensure the arts remain accessible to everyone.
In addition to the public performances, Kaskaskia College Theatre is offering a special opportunity for high school drama students to attend the final dress rehearsal on Thursday, March 26, at no cost. This informal invitation is intended to give aspiring performers a behind-the-scenes look at a theatrical production. Seating is limited, and an RSVP is required.
