Manager - Site Support

Job Description

Provides organization wide responsibility for leading and managing the technical team that supports the organization’s Computer Rooms & Facility Infrastructure, the Network Operations Center, and, operates the organization’s secure file transfer (FTP) environments, all collectively referred to as “Computer Operations Services”.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Participates in long range infrastructure technology and information system strategy planning.  Assists in the development and implementation of the IT Strategic, Financial, and Human Resource Plan.
  • Provides understanding of CQIPLUS and embraces, practices and facilitates the integration of values in CQIPLUS activities.  Manages the development and execution of tactical plans, identification and implementation of IT best practices.  Develops and implements operational policies and procedures for areas of responsibility following the principles (and utilizing the tools) of CQIplus.
  • Prepares and manages budgets for areas of responsibility.
  • Recruits, interviews, promotes, disciplines, and terminates  staff.  Sets performance standards, goals for direct reports and the department.  Evaluates and counsels staff on their performance.   Monitors workload statistics to ensure appropriate staffing levels.   Provides for the education needs of the staff.
  • Facilitates the development of technical management architecture.  Develops and implements operational policies and procedures for areas of responsibility.  Develops work plans and coordinates technical resources.
  • Performs requirements definition, design, product evaluation, and deployment of systems and management systems and tools utilizing  extensive knowledge of client/server technologies.
  • Supervises the daily activities of the technical support staff in a 7 X 24 environment.
  • Provides coordination and planning of technical projects.  Oversees capacity planning and utilization monitoring.  Serves as the technical liaison with end user management.  Establishes and enforces principles, standards and policies necessary to standardize, integrate and coordinate all required technical components.
  • Oversees departmental problem analysis and resolution.  Resolves operational difficulties, develops appropriate operational procedures.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

EDUCATION

  • Bachelor's degree

EXPERIENCE

  • Five years' experience, with three years’ in leadership

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Frequent lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 0-25 lbs.
  • Frequent sitting, standing, walking, reaching and repetitive foot/leg and hand/arm movements.
  • Frequent use of vision and depth perception for distances near (20 inches or less) and far (20 feet or more) and to identify and distinguish colors.
  • Frequent use of hearing and speech to share information through oral communication. Ability to hear alarms, malfunctioning machinery, etc.
  • Frequent keyboard use/data entry.
  • Occasional bending, stooping, kneeling, squatting, twisting and gripping.
  • Occasional lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 25-50 lbs.
  • Rare climbing.
