STUDENT MUST BE ELIGIBLE FOR FEDERAL WORK STUDY
Title of Position: Student Worker
Location: Vandalia Education Center
Supervisor: Wendy Blythe, Vandalia Education Center Director
Hours per week: 15 hours-Hours will be Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 9:00 am-2:00 pm.
Employment Status: Student Worker
Function: to provide customer service to all students, faculty, staff and visitors. Assist director in basic office duties.
Position Description:
- General office and receptionist duties
- Communicating with students and the general public to requested departments.
- Referring students and the general public to requested departments.
Qualifications:
- Enrolled in a minimum of 6 credit hours each for the fall and spring semesters and 3 credit hours for the summer semester
- Basic computer skills
- Communication Skills - Specific knowledge, skill, and ability in customer service
- Proper grammar, punctuation, and spelling skills
- Attention to detail
- Ability to comprehend instructions and work with minimal supervision
- Time Management skills
- Typing, faxing, data entry and database management
- Stocking/Inventory
- Running errands/delivery and retrieval of materials around campus and community
- Customer service skills
- Ability to lift 50 lbs.
Required Duties:
- Greet and assist students, faculty, staff and visitors to the center
- Typing, faxing, data entry
- Basic cleaning of indoor facilities, designated areas and equipment
- Stocking/inventory
- Delivery and retrieval of materials around campus and community
Evaluation Procedure: The Student worker’s performance is evaluated on a daily basis with positive feedback as well as learning instructions when the need arises.
Hourly wage is $14.00 per hour.
