Project and GIS Analyst
Job Description
Lanracorp is seeking a talented Project/GIS Analyst to join our team. The ideal candidate is driven, passionate about GIS and has the technical proficiency to deliver innovative solutions internally and externally. This role requires the ability to create and manage GIS datasets, as well as offer GIS support to the team in the field on small and large projects. The applicant must comprehensively understand GIS theory, data analysis, and mapping techniques and the ability to produce high-quality maps from collected datasets. Furthermore, we're looking for someone proficient with ESRI ArcGIS and other industry-standard tools. This person should also have excellent communication and problem-solving skills. A Bachelor's degree in GIS, computer science, or any other related field is preferred however, experience with ArcGIS may be substituted.
-Update and Maintain ArcGIS online maps
- Manage data updates while practicing good record keeping principles
- Develop tools to improve and automate processes
- Troubleshoot problems, develop solutions and always seek to make improvements
- Support and adopt Lanracorp's culture of safety and core values
-Assist in the collection and analysis of field activity data
- Generate content for GIS web application
Qualifications
-Degree in GIS, biology, natural resources, environmental studies, geology, or similar fields preferred
-Ability to lead by example in support of the Company's core values
-Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
-Ability to adapt to fast-moving and changing culture
-Ability to communicate clearly and concisely
-Ability to work independently and manage time effectively to meet individual gals and deadlines
- Ability to work as part of a team and display a positive attitude in a dynamic environment
- Ability to work on several projects at once
-Familiarity with necessary programming languages
- Familiarity with Microsoft 365, Power BI, Power Apps and Dynamics
