Crisis Advocate
Job Description
General Description of Duties and Responsibilities:
The SAFE Crisis Advocate shall be responsible for effective delivery of advocacy services in SAFE’s service region under the direction of the Clinical Director. The Advocate must have the skills necessary to be an effective advocate, present a positive image in the community and show compassion to victims.
Job Duties:
- Respond in-person to hospitals/law enforcement agencies to provide crisis medical/legal advocacy to sexual assault victims.
- Complete and submit all reports in a timely manner.
- Maintain a high level of confidentiality and professional ethics.
- Attend a minimum of 9 out of 12 monthly crisis advocate meetings to receive ongoing training.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
Must participate in 40 hours sexual assault training, plus ongoing training provided by SAFE.
Must have good verbal, listening and written skills.
Must have reliable transportation and mobile phone service.
Must show proof of a valid driver’s license and a minimum of liability auto insurance.
Salary and Benefits
Starting Salary: $250/shift
Shift Options: Monday-Thursday 5 P.M. – 5 A.M. (daily)
OR
Friday 5 P.M. – Monday 5 A.M.
