This course explores the application of chemical and biochemical principles in Forensic Science, focusing on how Chemistry aids in solving real world cases. Students will investigate the composition and behavior of various types of physical evidence such as bodily fluids, hair, fibers, glass, drugs and trace materials. Topics include techniques in chemical analysis, microscopy, and molecular identification. Emphasis is placed on the societal impact of Forensic investigation. Prerequisites: Placement into ENGL 101 and MATH 101 or higher. Must be 16 years old.
