Kaskaskia College Named on List of Best Places to Work in St. Louis
March 25, 2025
Centralia, IL - Kaskaskia College is excited to announce it was recently named to the St. Louis Business Journal's 2025 Best Places to Work list. Over 150 nominations were submitted for the list, and only 80 companies were selected as finalists. KC Vice President of Institutional Support & Technology and CIO George Kriss said Kaskaskia College was thrilled to make the Best Places to Work list in the first year they applied.
The St. Louis Business Journal used a third-party surveyor, Quantum Workplace, to distribute anonymous surveys to Kaskaskia College employees about their careers on campus. The surveys measured a wide range of research-validated workplace factors that impact employee engagement and satisfaction. Kaskaskia College scored 86.18 on a scale of 0-100 in the Best Places to Work award survey.
"Kaskaskia College is such a special place, and it is very humbling to be recognized as one of the Best Places to Work by the St. Louis Business Journal," Kaskaskia College President George Evans said. "The fact that the award was based upon survey results from our staff and faculty is even more humbling. This recognition is proof of the KC commitment to creating a family-oriented working environment, one built on supporting all employees at KC, and it reinforces just how special our staff and faculty are."
Kriss said KC is always evolving and improving. The entire college has gone through a rebrand, including renovations to facilities across campus while keeping a family-oriented culture for employees.
"While it might sound cliche, Kaskaskia College is truly a family," Kriss said. "We have a culture where you can be your authentic self and embrace who you are as a person. Everyone is allowed to have their own input at work, and we build off each other at KC. This creates a better work environment, which is then passed on to our students, who benefit from having happy professors and employees across campus. When working in higher education, you're not going to see the same thing every day. It's truly a new set of challenges daily, and it's so rewarding at the end of each semester to get to see all the things your students have accomplished."
Kriss said this recognition helps inform students that they will be supported by engaged and enthusiastic faculty if they choose to attend Kaskaskia College. The Best Places to Work in St. Louis list was announced in March, and a special awards section will be published in print in May.
