Kaskaskia College is proud to announce that Shelly Kuhns of Mason has been named the 2019 Outstanding Part-Time Faculty Member.

Kuhns joined Kaskaskia College in August 2017 as an adjunct faculty member in the Associate Degree Nursing Program bringing with her years of invaluable and versatile nursing expertise. Since joining the College, she has served as a clinical instructor in multiple nursing courses, actively participated with the implementation of clinical simulation, and willingly stepped in to serve as a theory instructor in the classroom when needed.  Shelly has consistently demonstrated a commitment to student success often meeting with students to help them understand course material as well as serving as a mentor to the great world of nursing. This dedication is best described by a student who noted, “Ms. Kuhns is a wonderful instructor who is so knowledgeable.  I really feel I evolved from having her as an instructor.” Ms. Kuhns willingness to serve where needed and the expertise she possesses to be able to do so is rare but so very valued. We are truly blessed to have Shelly as a member of the nursing faculty.
