Student Wellness Ambassador

Position Title: Student Wellness Ambassador
Pay Rate: $15/hour

The Student Wellness Ambassador serves as a peer leader and advocate for student wellness at Kaskaskia College. This role is designed to promote a culture of health, wellness, and inclusivity among the student body. The Ambassador will engage with students, provide resources, and facilitate programs that enhance overall well-being with a heightened focus on mental health awareness.

Key Responsibilities

• Peer Support: Act as a resource for fellow students regarding wellness-related issues by connecting them with established campus resources.

• Program Development: Assist in the planning and implementation of wellness programs, workshops, and events that promote physical, mental, and emotional health.

• Outreach and Engagement: Conduct outreach activities to encourage student participation in wellness-related activities and services.

• Resource Distribution: Provide information about campus resources related to health and wellness.

• Advocacy: Promote diversity, equity, and inclusion in all wellness initiatives, ensuring that all students feel valued and supported.

Required Qualifications

• Current KC student

• Participant of the KC Wellness Club

• Mental Health First Aid Certified

• NASPA Peer Educator Certified (equivalent certifications will be considered)

Preferred Qualifications

• Pursuing a degree in a related field (psychology, health education, social work)

• Experience in student organizations, leadership, and/or wellness-related activities
