HVAC Student Worker
General Function
The HVAC Student Worker is responsible for assisting the Associate Professor of HVAC in maintaining the lab area and cutting and preparing sheet metal for student labs. Responsibilities include preventative and general maintenance of the HVAC equipment. Basic office skills of making copies, scanning copies, etc.
Know-How
This position requires the student worker to possess:
- A willingness to complete job duties as assigned.
- A basic understanding of HVAC equipment or willingness to learn how to perform preventive and general maintenance of HVAC equipment.
- An ability to take directives.
- The ability to work independently after receiving assigned duties and manage time efficiently.
- Must also support the mission and values of the Kaskaskia College.
- The nature of this position requires physical efforts such as cleaning, climbing, bending, standing and lifting equal to or greater than 50 lbs.
Responsibilities
This position requires the incumbent to possess:
- Ability to perform basic maintenance on HVAC equipment and HVAC lab area.
- Organizational skills, housekeeping skills.
- Ability to work during hours assigned.
Other
Responsible for all other duties deemed necessary including, but not exclusive to:
- Communicating with Associate Professor of HVAC for daily job requirements and assignments.
- Arriving ready to work at scheduled times.
- Providing feedback to Associate Professor of HVAC on equipment and assigned duties when appropriate.
