HVAC Student Worker
Position Title: HVAC Student Worker
Pay Rate: $15.00 per hour
General Function
The HVAC Student Worker supports the Associate Professor of HVAC by maintaining the HVAC lab and classroom areas, assisting with the preparation of sheet metal for student labs, and performing preventative and general maintenance on HVAC equipment. This position also involves basic office tasks and organization duties to ensure an efficient and safe learning environment.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities

Clean the lab area, classroom space, props, and equipment.

Organize tool cabinets and equipment files.

Collect and dispose of scrap metal from the sheet metal lab.

Sweep and mop lab floors as needed.

Assist with cutting and preparing sheet metal for student labs.

Perform basic preventative maintenance on HVAC equipment.

Complete office tasks such as laminating, making copies, and scanning documents.

Label equipment, tools, and materials for organization purposes.

Perform miscellaneous lab and office duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Know-How

Willingness to complete assigned job duties.

Basic understanding of HVAC equipment or willingness to learn.

Ability to follow directives and work independently after receiving assignments.

Strong time-management and organizational skills.

Commitment to supporting the mission and values of Kaskaskia College.

Physical ability to perform tasks including cleaning, climbing, bending, standing, and lifting 50 lbs. or more.
Work Expectations

Arrive on time and ready to work during assigned hours.

Communicate regularly with the Associate Professor of HVAC regarding daily tasks and expectations.

Provide feedback on equipment condition and assigned duties when appropriate.

Perform all other duties as assigned.
