The position is responsible for developing employer relationships to support the WEI program and students employment opportunities and to facilitate the employability skills training course and student workshops. The position will focus on building employer relationships to develop employment opportunities for WEI students and to prepare students in employability skills training using GPEAK curriculum and career services.
Organizational Relationships
This position reports to the WEI Grant Lead, who reports to the Vice President of Student Services, who reports to the President of the College.
Qualifications for Position
Required:
Bachelors degree.
Experience in workforce development or career placement.
Proficiency in establishing new relationships and planning.
Ability to interact and engage with diverse students and community members and a commitment to racial equity.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Commitment to community college mission and philosophy.
Excellent communication, organization, and presentation skills.
Work with entire College community in an effective and positive manner.
Essential Functions
Develop career placement opportunities for WEI students.
Develop and implement workforce partnership plan.
Establish meaningful relationships with local employers to understand business, job opportunites, and needs of employers.
Increase career placement of WEI students into career path programs. Market students to employers.
Facilitate the employability skills curriculum using GPEAK.
Support students throughout the career search including job interviewing skills, resume writing, and cover letter development.
Collaborate with other KC staff and grant-funded programs to best benefit students, instructors, and employer partnerships.
Research and maintain current career opportunities for WEI programs.
Build relationship with KC instructors for WEI sponsored programs and collaborate on appropriate career placement.
Facilitate and support workshops, career fairs, meetings, and other event/activities related to career development, workforce development and career placement.
Track employment of students for ICCB reporting requirements.
Attend and participate in conferences and workshops as they relate to the job duties.
Other Functions
Provide input in the planning and budget process for grant opportunities.
Assist the appropriate College staff in follow-up activities for graduating or existing WEI students.
Assist the appropriate College staff in the dissemination of information dealing with Kaskaskia College programs and activities for students and the community.
Participate in commencement exercises.
Report absences from assigned responsibilities promptly to the WEI Grant Lead.
Perform other related duties as assigned.

Supervisory Controls
While consultation with Grant Lead is available as necessary, the Workforce Partnership Coordinator must be able to work independently and with a minimum amount of supervision.

Physical Demands and Work Environment
Travel within the College district, as well as occasional overnight travel is required as necessary. This position will have shared office space as well as opportunity to work remotely from home as determined jointly with supervisor approval.

The following information is based on the current employee fringe benefits that Kaskaskia College offers. It is not intended to be a contractual agreement and in no way limits Kaskaskia College from altering such benefits in the future.
VACATION LEAVE 1.83 days per month, for a total of 22 days per fiscal year. For grant-funded employees, vacation time must be used in the year that it is earned.
SICK LEAVE 12 days per fiscal year

PAID HOLIDAYS Minimum of 13 paid holidays per year
HEALTH INSURANCE is effective the first day of the month after hire date and includes comprehensive medical, vision and dental coverage.

Provider is Blue Cross/Blue Shield of Illinois.
LIFE INSURANCE is provided by the College and is effective the first day of the month after hire date. The benefit amount is equal to annual salary. Additional voluntary insurance is available at employees expense.
FLEXIBLE SPENDING ACCOUNT and 403(b) PLANS are also available.
RETIREMENT PLAN
The State Universities Retirement System requires that 8% of an employees monthly gross pay is deducted for individual retirement purposes.
It is also required that .75% of an employees monthly gross pay be deducted to fund the College Insurance Plan for Community College Retirees.
