The Data/Budget Analyst of Adult Education and Literacy will perform data entry, budget analysis and tasks requiring initiative, judgment, student files, student testing and attendance tracking, and accuracy with minimal supervision. This positon will be responsible for all collecting and analyzing all data used for assessment and quality improvement. The position will also require work with confidential information pertaining to students and to family financial circumstances which require appropriate security and discretion. Position requires flexible scheduling, including evening work. Travel is required as a normal part of the assignment and overnight travel, though infrequent, is included.
Organizational Relationships
This position reports directly to the Director of Adult Education and Literacy. The Director reports
to the Vice President of Instructional Services, who reports to the President. The Data/Budget
Analyst will have frequent contact with college staff, state educational programs, state agencies and
the general public
Qualifications for Position
Required:
Bachelors Degree in accounting or related field
Three to five years of accounting and data entry experience.
Proficiency at using various computer programs, specifically, Excel, Microsoft Office.
Ability to develop budget proposals for grants.
Proficiency in monitoring and maintaining the fiscal and reporting criteria of grants.
Excellent accounting and communication skills.
Preferred:
Three to five years working in adult education and/or accounting.
Knowledge of Datatel system
Knowledge of DAISI
Knowledge of National Report System of Adult Education
Knowledge of ICCB Data College System
Essential Functions
1. Supervise statistical data collection and provide data entry duties to create required reports for Adult Education and Literacy programs. 2. Analyze state reporting data and maximize state reimbursement to Kaskaskia College. 3. Develop pre and post-allocation budgets, manage purchase activity of department, reconcile accounts, track funding source activities, and manage fiscal records. 4. Submit payment requests for Federal grants. 5. Maintain databases of all enrollment and fiscal activity for state and/or federal reporting associated with grants and institutional funding. 6. Maintain fiscal and grant activity timelines for all grants. 7. Submit fiscal and enrollment reports for all grants. 8. Collect, analyze student and classroom data for assessment and quality control. 9. Provide technical and analytical support to administrative and instructional staff to evaluate the effectiveness and efficiency of all activities associated with Adult Education and Literacy.
Other Functions
Provide other clerical and departmental assistance as needed.
Performed other duties as assigned by the Director of AEL.
Supervisory Controls
This position will be expected to work independently with a minimum amount of supervision.
Consultation with supervisor is available as needed.

Personal Relationships
This position requires a person with an ability to work well with others. All of the programs require
working with instructors, adult education and literacy coordinators and director, and volunteer tutors
from a variety of settings. Interaction with the Adult Education and Literacy staff as well as college
staff and general public occurs regularly.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
Duties will be performed in a standard office environment with frequent distractions and
interruptions. Position requires the transporting of books and supplies, which may weigh up to fifty
pounds. Also requires the ability to travel to locations within the service area to fulfill
responsibilities.
