Nursing assistants provide basic care and assist patients with activities of daily living. CNA’s are the backbone of the healthcare industry often spending more time with patients than other members of the healthcare team. Common tasks that CNA’s complete include: cleaning or bathing patients; helping patients use the toilet and dress; turning and repositioning patients; talking with patients and relaying patient concerns and information to nurses; measure patient’s vital signs; and assisting patients with meals and self-care. Kaskaskia’s CNA program is the first step to a rewarding healthcare career.
