KC's Nursing Program has a strong history of graduating successful nurses. With a dedicated and experienced faculty, a state-of-the-art Nursing Education Center, simulation lab, and convenient clinical sites, students attending Kaskaskia College can earn their degrees, and become a practicing nurse in as little as one or two years. Whether your interest is working at hospitals, home health, seeking an advanced degree or serving as a CEO of a healthcare organization, nursing has an option for you and Kaskaskia can help you get there.
Program Information
Licensure
Program graduates are eligible to take the National Council Licensure Examination for registered nurses (NCLEX-RN) or practical nurses (NCLEX-PN). The Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation grants licensure to nurses.
Alpha Delta Nu Nursing Honor Society
Kaskaskia College's Alpha Delta Nu Honor Society recognizes the academic excellence of students in the Associate Degree Nursing Program. Created by the National Organization of Associate Degree Nursing in 2009, the Alpha Delta Nu Nursing Honor Society encourages the pursuit of advance degrees in the profession of nursing as well as continuing education as a life-long professional responsibility. Additionally, the society shall participate in the recruitment of qualified individuals into the profession of nursing.
In order to be accepted into Alpha Delta Nu students must create a capstone project designed to further interest in the profession of nursing. Third semester ADN students may receive provisional membership with a 3.0 grade point average and recommendations from the nursing faculty. After completing their capstone project, students may become full members in their fourth semester.
