This course provides an overview of the principles and practices of providing public service to patrons in all types of libraries. It explores access services functions including circulation, interlibrary loan, reserves, collection maintenance, and library security. Students will also learn the basic concepts of user privacy, customer service, interpersonal relations, teamwork, and communication. Prerequisite: LIBT 120 (C or better), concurrent enrollment or consent of instructor.
