Students will learn advanced theories and practice of speech communication in order to develop proficiency in various speaking, acting, and interpretive situations. This course elaborates on the fundamentals of effective speaking and acting as well as strengthens the student's ability in the oral interpretation of poetry and literature. Emphasis is placed upon personal adjustment to speaking and theatrical situations. Performance is required and student emphasis will be on considerable practice in composing and delivering speeches. Prerequisite: COMM 103
