A study of physical and chemical concepts, atomic structure and periodic classification; concepts of chemical bonding; gas laws; solids, solutions, colloids, and colligative properties; and oxidation-reduction (redox) reactions. Laboratory work is required. Prerequisite: CHEM 101, or CHEM 103, or 1 year of high school chemistry with a C or better completed within the last five years and MATH 107, 134, 160, or 166 with a C or better completed within the last five years or concurrent enrollment in MATH 107, 134, 160, or 166.
