The Library Technical Assistant (LIBT) is an important member of the library team. As a trained paraprofessional, the LIBT assists the librarian in a variety of areas including circulation, reference, technical processing and audio-visual services.

Kaskaskia College's Library Technical Assistant certificate provides basic library skills and knowledge in the following areas: organization, operations, collection management, cataloging and classification, librarianship, and teamwork. The program combines lectures, hands on exercises and internships to provide the training necessary for students to succeed.
