A five-year, $2.2 million federal grant was awarded to Kaskaskia College to expand its ability to serve students by providing greater access to educational programs that lead to employment within high-demand occupations.

In the course of the five-year Title III grant, Kaskaskia College plans to expand academic access through the revision of online core curriculum courses, develop two new hybrid degree programs in manufacturing and nursing, convert an existing industrial technology program to hybrid learning delivery and improve students’ success by developing online tutoring and advising services.

“We are excited to receive this grant at such a crucial time,” said Jill Klosterman, Director of Financial Aid. “This project is aimed at equipping KC with the technology and innovation to best serve our students virtually, while still maintaining our standards of educational excellence and personal attention to our students.”

The U.S. Department of Education Title III Grant – Strengthening Institutions Program (SIP) is designed to help higher education institutions expand their capacity to serve students by providing funds to improve and strengthen the institution’s academic quality, institutional management, and fiscal stability.
