Breese Central High School Places Second in Academic Challenge Competition

The annual Academic Challenge was held at Kaskaskia College on February 6.  Fourteen district high schools were in competition in the areas of Biology, Chemistry, Computer Science, Engineering Graphics, English, Math, and Physics. The Breese Central High School team finished in second place in the medium school competition.

Individual students from Central who won awards were: 

Biology - Sydney Klemish, tie for 1st place and Mollie Johnson, 2nd place            

Computer Science - Jake Liening, tie for 1st place; Jonathan Durbin, tie for 2nd place; Shane Caraker, tie for 2nd place

Engineering Graphics - Kolten Diesen, 3rd place

Physics - Shane Caraker, 1st place; Katherine Helmink, tie for 3rd place and Cooper Truong – tie for 3rd place. 

Student Olivia Clark received a 6-credit hour scholarship to attend Kaskaskia College for high test scores.
