The Jim Beasley Veterans Tribute has established a program to help in the purchase of flags which fly over the Tribute, located on the main campus of Kaskaskia College.  Currently the Tribute features 13 flags, ten US flags around the perimeter with three flags, a US, and a POW/MIA flag along with the flag of the College.  Due to wind and weather the flags have to be replaced every six months, a process that can be costly.

The hope is to use the new Sponsorship Fund to help offset costs in purchasing the flags.  “The flags are a huge part of the Tribute,” said Tribute Chair Jim Beasley.  “Seeing them fly each and every day adds to the experience for our visitors.  Unfortunately the cost of replacing those flags can be quite high and it’s the Tribute committee’s hope others will step forward to help us offset some of the cost in replacing them.”

Two members of the Veterans Tribute Committee have stepped up to donate to the Flag Sponsorship Fund, including longtime supporter Don and Sharon Berdeaux of Carlyle.  “I hope this encourages others to become part of this project,” said Don Berdeaux.

Those taking part in the sponsorship fund will be recognized with a plaque at the Tribute.  To learn more about the Flag Sponsorship Fund please contact Jim Beasley at 618-292-4461, or 618-545-3069.
