Learning Communities establish conditions that promote coherence, community, and a sense of common purpose and address curricular coherence, civic leadership, student retention, active learning, and faculty development.  Kaskaskia College has embraced the concept of Learning Communities, and through the Success Center is offering both Math and English Learning Communities.

Students will have the opportunity to have additional time to develop their understanding of the important basic concepts provided by faculty in English and Math.  Students can attend the sessions to assist them to reinforce the information presented during regular class time.  Learning Community Facilitators will be working closely with Faculty to ensure students are grasping the concepts needed to be successful in their classes.

It is our hope that the Learning Communities can grow into collaborative learning experiences which will benefit both faculty and student development.
