Kaskaskia College promotes lifelong learning and is committed to providing
educational opportunities and training to all residents of its district.
Construction of a Lifelong Learning Center allows the College to provide a safe and
efficient educational and learning space for students and the general public.
The building provides secure and efficient facilities for non-credit
Continuing/Community Education, Art Studio/Gallery, Foreign Language and Cultural
Arts, Business and Industry Training Programs, and provide the constituents of
District #501 with a conference room that will accommodate as many as 300 people, a
catering kitchen, and a large multi-purpose divided space with movable
partitions for six classrooms. It moves the College forward in meeting the instructional and
continuing education needs of the district residents and businesses.
The 17,950 square foot one story building is situated between the Health & Professional Careers Building and the Health & Business
Building. Adorning the beautiful Lifelong Learning Center is a towering 50-feet-high
clock tower.
A groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of Lifelong Learning Center was
held on Thursday, August 9, 2007. And a dedication ceremony was held on April
30, 2009.
