The Kaskaskia College Cosmetology Department is now enrolling for classes for the fall semester beginning August 18. Financial Aid is available for those who qualify.
The KC Cosmetology Program offers a superior program with instructors who have almost 150 years of salon experience to help students acquire a chosen career in Cosmetology.
Students will receive theory and practical technology which encompasses hair, skin and nail services offered in a salon as well as receiving specialty classes such as Work Ethics and Business classes to help them become successful stylist, salon owners or platform artists.
During the first phase of study the students will have theory and practical application only. The second phase of study, the students begin a “real-life” experience in a clinic setting, as well as practical application, continuing until graduation, under the supervision of the instructors.
The Cosmetology program is divided into two semesters and a summer session. The program is normally conducted 5 days a week. All classes are in session 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Monday – Friday.
Students are required to complete 50 credit hours in the prescribed course of study in order to be eligible to take the state board exam and be licensed as a Cosmetologist. New students are accepted three times a year in August, January and June.
