The Village of Damiansville has donated $2,500 towards the Kaskaskia College Trenton Education Center expansion project currently underway at the center on Broadway in Trenton. KC Vice-President of Instructional Services Dr. Greg Labyak and Director of Purchasing Craig Roper attended the village board’s June 25 meeting to thank the village for its support and provide an update on the project.
“Thank you for your support of the Trenton Center and for expanded educational opportunities on the western side of Clinton County,” said Labyak. “Construction is underway and we invite you to explore the expanded Trenton Education Center when it’s completed.” Labyak also mentioned that even with construction going on classes are being held by the Trenton Education Center in alternative locations in Trenton as well as at Wesclin High School and Central High School in Breese. Mayor Herman Jansen said, “We are pleased we could help with this project.”
Expected to reopen in Spring 2014, the expanded Kaskaskia College Trenton Education Center will include nearly 16,000 square feet of instructional space, including new classrooms, computer and nursing labs, and an Industrial Occupations area.
