What is the difference between restricted and unrestricted gifts?

An unrestricted gift is given to the College without any restrictions on its use. These gifts are applied to the greatest needs and opportunities as determined by the Kaskaskia Foundation’s Board of Directors. Restricted contributions are designated by the donor to specific programs, scholarships, departments or endowment accounts.
