ADULT EDUCATION AND LITERACY DEPARTMENT
These grant funded programs offer services to students 17 years
of age and older and not in school. Program areas are: Adult
Basic and Adult Secondary Education, Illinois High School
Equivalency (GED) Tests preparation, tutoring in basic reading
and math skills, employability skills, life skills, parenting skills,
English as a Second Language and job placement services for
TANF clients. The family literacy programs also offer services
within the communities throughout the district.
The lack of state funding for Adult Education and Literacy has
necessitated the suspension of programming. It is anticipated
that programs and services will resume when the necessary state
funds are received. The College’s TANF services are
