Responsible for all aspects of coordinating and coaching the cheerleading team.
Reports to the Director of Athletics, who reports to the VP of Student Services, who reports to the President.
Qualifications for Position

• Assist with the development of a competitive cheerleading team appropriate for the community college level. • Assist with monitoring the scholarship program in accordance with College policies. • Assist in coordinating the use of KC athletic facilities. • Develop and execute an effective recruitment plan in accordance with college policies. • Assist with inventory and ordering equipment, pursuant to College procedures. • Understand and abide by NJCAA and Great Rivers Athletic Conference rules and regulations. • Assist with monitoring academic issues with players. • Assist in coordinating transportation for away games. • Uphold the positive image of Kaskaskia College by exhibiting professional conduct at all times. • Perform instructional/student success and related duties as assigned. • Assist with publicity and community relations functions. • Support fund raising activities for athletic programs. • Assist with support organizations for athletics. • Assist in ensuring compliance with student athlete code of conduct. • Work as part of overall athletic team to develop and improve athletic programs.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Assist with supervising student workers as assigned.
Complete assigned duties independently and with minimum supervision. Consultation with Athletic Director available as needed.
Expected to follow all College policies and procedures as well as all local, state, and federal laws. Also expected to adhere to and foster development of Kaskaskia College core values of compassion, honesty, respect, responsibility and fairness.
Position will have daily contact with athletes, students, and other College employees and will have frequent contact with the community and external agencies.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
Extensive travel required. Flexible work schedule, including nights and weekends required.
Kaskaskia College is seeking applicants for a Head Cheerleading Coach, which will be responsible for assisting with all aspects of coordinating and coaching the cheerleading team. Essential functions of the role include; assisting with the development of a competitive team, performing student success activities, monitoring the scholarship program, assisting with the coordination of athletic events, recruiting students and supporting fundraising.
This position requires an associate’s degree, previous coaching experience and/or experience, strong public relations and communications skills, proficiency in organizing and planning, strong leadership skills, a commitment to the college and the team, a valid driver’s license and schedule flexibility that includes availability on weekends and evenings.
This position is a part time position and is paid by an annual stipend of $6,000.
