This course is a study of physical and mechanical agents used in the physical therapy practice. It emphasizes the principles and procedures used in the application of various modalities including, but not limited to, thermal agents, cryotherapy, paraffin, ultrasound, hydrotherapy, mechanical traction, and pneumatic treatments. Clinical case scenarios are used to assist students in developing their critical thinking skills in the application of modalities. Prerequisite: Admission to the Physical Therapist Assistant Program or with approval of instructor or Academic Dean
