The Kaskaskia College Office of Industrial and Continuing Education is pleased to offer an online course titled "Achieving Success with Difficult People.” Participants will learn to see things from others' viewpoints based on their needs, values, beliefs, experiences, skills, knowledge, and self-interests. Learn to approach difficult situations by answering: Who? What? Where? When? How? and Why? By answering these questions, participants will begin to understand who difficult people are, what they're like, how to react to them, and understand their response.
Participants will practice analyzing interactions by observing others closely, learning to read their identifying characteristics. Once identified with which type of person you're dealing with, participants can choose appropriate reactions to their behaviors. Learn that assertiveness involves taking responsibility when meeting your own needs in a way that preserves the dignity and rights of others.
All instructor-facilitated online courses run for six weeks (with a 10-day grace period in the end). Courses are project-oriented and include lessons, quizzes, hands-on assignments, discussion areas, supplementary links, and more. Students can complete courses from home, 24/7. These courses are not for college credit, and grades will not be issued.
