How do you inspire your students to learn? I would hope my students would say I inspire them to learn on a very individual basis. That I take extra time with each student to ensure they learn at their highest, most capable level to make them successful clinical PTAs. In addition, I try to lead by example as I continue to manage didactic work with clinical work demonstrating to the students that learning never ends.
What did you do before you began teaching at Kaskaskia College? I began my clinical practice as a Physical Therapist in 2000 in an outpatient clinic. My focus since then has been in outpatient orthopedics, treating the entire lifespan. Prior to starting at Kaskaskia College, I also oversaw the Sports Medicine Program at Memorial Hospital. I was responsible for coordinating Athletic Training coverage and Physician coverage at seven local high schools. In addition, I marketed athletic and sports medicine care to local health care networks as well as ensured excellent health care was provided to those injured athletes throughout the continuum of care.
