Who Can Volunteer?
Any adult who is able to read and who has two hours a week to help someone else learn to read.
Who Are the Students?
Adults 16 years of age or older who are no longer in school and need help improving their reading skills or basic math, learning English as a second language or obtaining a HEC.
How Many People Really Need Help?
Statistics for the Kaskaskia College District show that 25% of all adults are unable to read or write above a 5th grade level. Some have not finished high school and need to get a HEC.
How Can I Help?
By tutoring a student one-on-one, tutoring a small groups of students, or by volunteering to tutor in a classroom.

What Does It Cost to Get Started?
Training is free and is provided on an on-going basis. Call for the next available training session.
Where Will I Be Tutoring?
Tutoring is done in your community at public libraries, churches, schools, and community buildings.
