Kaskaskia College will be hosting an event on Sunday, May 18 entitled “Tea Time at Kaskaskia”.
The event will include “A Century of Hat Fashions” and three courses of delectable delights served with selected teas.
Hat fashions will be presented by Diane Krausz Isbell of New Memphis (Wesclin High School graduate), currently residing in Belleville and will include hats from the 1800’s through today. Everyone is encouraged to wear their favorite hat.
The first course of food will include scones and English tea. The second course will include finger sandwiches including cucumber sandwiches, mini chicken salad phyllo cups, and minced ham with honey and pineapple. The dessert course will include chocolate covered strawberries, spumoni truffles, lemon balls, key lime bars and blueberry supreme. Specialty teas will be served with all three courses.
Music for the special day will be provided by Jacob Henss and Grace Fisher both of Trenton.
Tickets for the event will be $30.00 per person and available at the Trenton Education Center. Tea Time will be held at the St. Mary Parish Center in Trenton from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m.
