The Kaskaskia College School of Cosmetology is announcing that beginning in August 2013 it will now offer its certificate program in an 18-month part-time program along with its regular full-time program.
This program, which has a rich history of serving students, will now be offered Tuesday through Thursday evenings from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m. and Saturdays from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. All of the Kaskaskia College Cosmetology students will received the same quality education and field trip opportunities.
The KC Cosmetology offers a superior program with instructors who have over 150 years of combined teaching excellence to assist students in the profession.
Students receive theory and practical technology which encompasses hair, skin and nail services offered in a salon as well as receiving specialty classes such as Work Ethics and Business classes to help them become successful stylist, salon owners or platform artists.
During the first phase of study the students will have theory and practical application only. The second phase of study, the students begin a “real-life” experience in a clinic setting, as well as practical application, continuing until graduation, under the supervision of the instructors.
Students are required to complete 50 credit hours in the prescribed course of study in order to be eligible to take the state board exam and be licensed as a Cosmetologist.
