Joe Basch is ready to start his fifth season as head coach for the Kaskaskia College Blue Angels Soccer Team. He was the first women’s soccer coach and in his time at Kaskaskia he has led the team to three winning seasons, including a 16-2-2 mark last fall. He has coached ten all region players, three academic all American teams, and nine individual academic all Americans. Basch graduated from Centralia High School in 2003 where he was a four-year varsity starter (one year at Pekin High School). He was an all-conference selection for three years, two as a forward and one as a defender. He was also awarded the offensive player of year award at Centralia in 2003 as well as being named Team co-captain. Basch attended Marian University in Indianapolis, Indiana where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Sports Management in 2007. He was a member of the soccer and track teams. He played soccer collegiality as a defender and was a three time national qualifier in track. Basch was also a founding member of the Student-Athlete Advisory Board at Marian. Before Kaskaskia, Basch coached boys soccer at Macomb High School and helped lead them to the IHSA sweet sixteen. “We have talent rich roster that can make a deep run into the post season.” Said Basch.
