Mr. Jason Rakers

Jason Rakers attended Kaskaskia College from 1993 – 1995 and was an invaluable member of the Men’s Blue Devils Baseball Team. While at Kaskaskia College, Jason played in 108 games, held a .294 batting average and a record of six doubles, four triples, three homeruns, and thirty-six RBIs.
After earning his Associates of Arts degree from Kaskaskia College, Jason went on to earn his Bachelors of Arts degree from Quincy University. Jason was also an All Time Batting Leader for Quincy’s baseball program with a .433 batting average. He was a pre-season All American, All Great Lakes Valley Conference Academic Honors recipient and Great Lakes Valley Conference Athletic Honors recipient.
Jason Rakers was signed to the San Diego Padres as a free agent in 1997, the first player to ever be drafted into Major League Baseball from Quincy University. Playing in the Major League afforded Jason the opportunity to travel much of the United States to include, Arizona, Idaho, Iowa, California and Missouri during his three years of league play. Jason was also a 1999 Frontier League All Star.
