Chris Haake Langford

Although only playing for the Blue Angel Volleyball Program her sophomore year in 1990, Christy (Haake) Langford brought a powerful presence to the Kaskaskia offense. Playing in the setter position in a 5-1 offense, Christy’s inspired plays led the Blue Angels to a 31-7 record and resulted in a tie for first place in the Great Rivers Athletic Conference; a first for Kaskaskia College. She also guided her team to first place in the East Central College Tournament, first place in the Parkland College Tournament and a third place finish in the Region 24 State Tournament; also a first for Kaskaskia College. Sharing the captain role that year, she was also named Team Co-MVP, Christy was selected as a Great Rivers Athletic All-Conference Team as well as 1st Team in Region 24.
After graduation from Kaskaskia, she received a scholarship to Division I University of South Alabama where she was a member of the volleyball team. At USA she graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree majoring in Finance. She also went on to play professional beach volleyball on the Gulf Coast and Florida. Christy now resides in Houston, Texas.
