Gary Boles

Gary Boles started his Blue Devil Basketball career under Coach Chuck Mundell. Boles was a part of the 1960-61 team that finished 19-8. He had a career high of 48 points in one game that season helping him achieve 28 ppg in scoring ranking him 8th in the nation. This accomplishment helped him receive NJCAA All-American honors and being named MVP on the Southern Illinois College Conference All-Conference team.
Boles also played in the North-South All-American Game in Lawton, OK under Coach Jack Hartman. Boles continued his education on a basketball scholarship at McKendree College. After college, he taught and coached for 16 years. He was a basketball coach at the local Odin Grade School where he won a SIJHAA State title in 1970 with a 26-1 record.
