• Must possess valid Ohio Driver’s License


• High School Diploma or GED


• Must possess an Ohio Police Officer Training Academy (OPOTA) Certificate at the time of original appointment


• Must successfully pass the physical agility test and must submit a current strength and agility certificate from Cuyahoga Community College (Tri-C) at the time of application or no later than the date of the written exam. This certificate shall be dated within one year prior to the written test


• Applicants MUST pay a non- refundable $25 testing fee to the City of Painesville, Civil Service Commission, P.O. Box 601 Painesville, OH 44077 by May 3, 2013


• 21 to under 35 years of age at time of original appointment


• Mandatory orientation and written examination on Saturday, May 25, 2013 at Harvey High School, 200 West Walnut Avenue, Painesville, OH 44077 . Candidates must arrive by 7:30 a.m. with photo identification to sign-in. Orientation will begin promptly at 8:00 a.m. and testing will immediately follow.
