The Plant Technician duties and responsibilities shall include but are not limited to:
Performs all assigned tasks associated with the operations and maintenance required for operation and readiness of the combustion turbine power plant and the
associated balance of plant equipment.
Successful candidates must be able to understand basic chemistry and perform periodic water sampling and basic water analysis.
Possess well-developed oral and written communications skills and possess a working knowledge of PC based applications such as Word, Excel, Outlook, and familiarity with preventive maintenance management program concepts & process.
Complete maintenance reports and perform periodic inspections as assigned.
Assure operational efficiency, unit reliability, and compliance with company and governmental safety, environmental standards and other regulatory requirements.
Interface with various work groups in order to meet all production, testing, and maintenance schedules
Executes tactical maintenance processes while working alone or in a team oriented work environment.
The plant Technician is subject to trouble callouts, working overtime, and weekends as required to support plant operational, maintenance activities or emergencies.
May be required to serve in a Working Foreman role as needed by plant management.
Associate of Applied Science Degree in Electronics or Electronic Technology or Electrical Mechanics from an accredited technical school or college preferred. Relevant industrial or specialized military training with emphasis in electronics/electrical/mechanics will be considered in lieu of a degree. Experience
Three or more years of relevant industrial experience in plant operations and maintenance preferred. Experience with simple cycle frame and aero-derivative combustion turbine platforms is strongly preferred.
The successful candidates must possess experience and related skills in all three (3) of the following disciplines.
Electrical Maintenance- Experienced in troubleshooting and correcting electrical maintenance problems, including switchgear, motors, and breakers, motor control, generators, and plant wiring. Applicant must be familiar with the proper use of various electronic and precision test instruments to identify and correct problems.
Mechanical Maintenance- Experience in troubleshooting and maintaining combustion turbines mechanical systems including: pumps, compressors, valves and various rotating equipment. Must be proficient in alignment, rigging and lifting. Able to read and interpret piping and structural drawings and layouts.instrument & Control- Experienced in troubleshooting, calibrating, repairing, tuning, and replacing instrumentation and control equipment. Familiarity with PLC based controls and electronic instrumentation is required. Must be able to read and interpret electrical and instrumentation schematics and diagrams.
Strong analytical, communication, and problem solving skills required. Must be able to work independently and work as part of a team. Applicant must be able to work in extreme environments in order to complete work as assigned and is subject to trouble call response. Applicant must be willing to relocate to meet domicile requirements. Those meeting the minimum position requirements must pass written and performance Proficiency testing elements administered by the company to be considered for the position.
