Title: Strategic Sourcing Intern (May - Aug 2013)
Location: St. Louis, Mo
Temporary Full-time summer Intern position for an undergraduate or post graduate student. Positions available from May-Aug 2013. Must be in student status.
Challenging position providing hands on experience in Ameren's Sourcing group.
There are 5 Intern positions available. Interns will be working primarily with a member of the Sourcing group or Supply Chain Operations Group.
Types of projects that the intern could be involved with include:
-Procurement, bid analysis and evaluation, risk analysis, savings analysis, contract management, inventory optimization, spend and/or inventory
usage analysis and other procurement-related functions.
-One of the intern positions may take photographs of inventory items at Ameren’s warehouses.
-Intern will also learn how to develop and initiate queries in the Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition (OBIEE) program conducting detailed
analysis of supplier spend and savings generated from Sourcing Projects.
-During pre-request for proposal phase (RFP), Intern will assist Analyst in preparing market analysis and commodity analysis that supports overall project
cost and operational objectives.
-During post RFP phase, Intern will assist Analyst in conducting detailed analysis of supplier's response for RFP, rank suppliers and making sourcing
recommendations to Ameren Management.
Intern will be measured against completion of the assigned tasks, including the timing, quality, and character of work performed.
Expected Major Contributions:
Intern will participate as a regular team member in the Sourcing group and is expected to produce high quality deliverables on time and accurately.
It is further expected that effective written and oral communication, change management and objective evaluation skills also be demonstrated throughout.

In a relatively short period of time, Intern will gain an understanding of Ameren’s procurement function and insight into utility operations. Additionally,
the intern’s analytical and procurement skills will be exercised in real business situations.
Must be in student status (graduate or undergraduate) in a Business program or MBA, from an accredited college or university. Course work or
concentration in Supply Chain Management preferred. Completed course work through the junior level with a GPA of 3.50 or higher preferred.
Basic analytical, financial accounting experience, statistical analysis required. Good understanding of Access, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
Candidates must be able to demonstrate strong analytical, communication, and teamwork skills in additional to a high level of initiative.
Previous experience in the supply chain area a plus.
