Title: Technical Architect-SOA
Location: Collinsville, IL
POSITION DESCRIPTION:
The Technical Architect - SOA provides architectural design and guidance for Ameren's Service Oriented
Architecture (SOA) efforts. The position requires a broad understanding of and experience with the
various enterprise integration technologies used in Service Oriented Architecture. Key responsibilities
include:
- Provide technical foundation and subject matter expertise for Service Oriented Architecture and
integration design.
- Formulate and effectuate the vision and strategic direction for corporate services and integrations,
including the following: establish, implement, and review guidelines and standards for services and
systems integration; design methodologies and procedures for estimating services and integrations;
make decisions regarding design patterns and architecture frameworks; conduct product and service
evaluations.
- Provide infrastructure expertise and consultation for specialized architectural needs. Serve as IT
enterprise services and integration advisor on company-wide project teams. Stay abreast of current
developments in Service Oriented Architecture. Prepare studies and make recommendations.
- Support Application Developers and Operations personnel in implementing technical solutions that
utilize services and integrations consistently, efficiently and effectively.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Management Information Systems,
Business Administration, or equivalent computer related degree from an accredited college or university
required.
Experience: Five or more years of IT Architecture, Development, Engineering, or Infrastructure Specialist experience required; eight or more years of experience preferred. Four or more years of experience providing relevant SOA specific architecture services including development of SOA design standards, patterns, principles, web services and experience with enterprise service bus technologies required.
Other: Experience with a broad range of Web Services Standards and integration design patterns
(request/response, publish/subscribe, assured delivery, synchronous vs. asynchronous required.
Experience in enterprise integration background including XML/XSLT, Data Transformation, Message Routing,
Integration Infrastructure and Web Services (WS*, REST) required. Experience in software/middleware
components (Enterprise Services Bus, Enterprise Messaging, J2EE application servers) required.
Experience in relational database experience (SQL Server, Oracle, DB2, and Sybase) and programming
experience (C#, Java, COBOL, PL/SQL, T-SQL) preferred.
