Summary:

Responsibilities Assist in upgrading of training material, lessons plans and simulators to meet customer requirements. Conduct training classes of a high standard, which meets the customer expectations and customer requirements. Assist to design and develop new training material to meet targeted deadlines and ensure customers are trained before they are negatively affected. Conduct special training classes required by customers that are not provided for in the planned training schedule. Ensure training sessions cover specific topics as stipulated by the Joy Global course structures. Ensure training material is in line with technical manuals, parts books, engineering specifications, machine prints and schematics. Ensure the effectiveness of the training is measured by written and practical assessments / evaluation / reactionaries to evaluate training progress and to what extent the gap was closed. Provide timely feedback and recommendations.
Qualifications A minimum of an Associates Degree in a related field or 3-4 years of equivalent progressive practical experience in machine rebuilds or diagnostics. A combination of educational and background experience is important to enable Joy to provide support of its products and services; therefore, the Training Specialist needs to be a subject matter expert and have an Assessor accreditation and a working knowledge of the Customer requirements, appropriate technical background, as well as mining qualifications. Experience in a mining and an operational application environment is very important together with in depth product and application knowledge. Candidate should be proficient in the use of a personal computer (Microsoft Office, Avenue and SAP). Excellent interpersonal skills, combined with experience, are a requirement as well as the following: Extensive in-depth knowledge of various disciplines, including mining methods and equipment. Application experience in underground mining equipment and systems. Minimum 3 years experience in underground mining. Ability to train; to transfer knowledge and skills effectively. Good report writing skills are fundamental for effective communication. A working knowledge of US Mine Safety Health Administration laws and standards, as well as training and documentation directives and requirements. Knowledge of customer functions / requirements and unit standards for training. Strong customer service orientation. Desire to be involved in operational application issues on products responsible for the use of the product. Seeing the “Bigger Picture” such as life cycle cost, value, support and service. Identify inefficiencies and to continuously improve. Working within teams toward common goals.
