Description: The Director, Laboratory Services manages and sets policy for the operation of the Laboratory Departments.
Proficiency in performance of procedures in all areas. Is responsible for the administration and supervision of
designated patient care departments. Coordinates services with other departments, physicians, and the community to
deliver the highest standard of care. Maintains the quality of services to meet stringent standards of care set by
regulatory bodies.
Qualifications
Education: Bachelors of Science Degree
Experience:
Must have a minimum of three to five years clinical laboratory experience.
Prefer one to three years management experience.
Demonstrates skills in communication, conflict resolution and human relations.
Exhibit a team approach.
Knowledgeable of fiscal and general healthcare issues, trends, quality management and legal aspects of laboratory practice and standards.
Possess ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with the public.
Able to follow directions and to perform work according to department standards when no directions are given.
Requires good interpersonal skills.
Must have good communication skills, both verbal and written.
Ability to function effectively in fast-paced environment with multiple demands/deadlines.
Position requires some overtime and ability to coordinate several activities simultaneously.
