Created by percussion virtuoso Gregory Kozak and designer muse Justine Murdy, and joined by Spencer Cole, Christa Mercey, Greg Samek and Malcolm Shoolbraid, SCRAP ARTS MUSIC excites the senses with intricate rhythms, raw energy, athletic choreography and 150 of the most beautifully inventive instruments on stage today. Based in Montreal, Canada, SCRAP ARTS MUSIC transcends language, culture and age and offers a highly physical, wildly theatrical and thoroughly entertaining pop percussion experience.
Michael Berkowitz, Conductor for Liza Minnelli, along with the 16-piece New Gene Krupa Orchestra and vocalist Tony Babino, present an incredible recreation of the classic Sinatra/Basie album. While the show contains the original arrangements of Nelson Riddle, Billy Byers, Quincy Jones and others, it is not a Rat-Pack impersonator show. A great, classy, excited concert filled with Basie instrumentals like "Makin' Whoopee" and "I Can't Stop Lovin' You", plus classic Sinatra tunes as "Luck Be A Lady", "I've Got You Under My Skin", "Come Fly With Me", and "My Kind Of Town".
As one of the most highly acclaimed performers of our time with five Grammy awards, four Billboard Music Awards, three platinum records, five gold records, and eleven million units sold, Sandi Patty is simply known as The Voice. She was introduced to the world with her rendition of the Star Spangled Banner at the rededication of the Statue of Liberty in 1986. Since then, she has become the most awarded female vocalist in contemporary Christian music history, with 40 Dove Awards, and was inducted into the Gospel Music Hall of Fame in 2004. She has released over 30 albums and her performance at KC will focus on the latest album, "Everlasting", which features notable hymns and songs of worship in an intimate and acoustic setting.
Featuring music made famous by record labels such as Motown, Masters of Soul is a celebration of the legendary songs and performers that defined soul music. The show features stylishly costumed, fully choreographed performances of both male and female groups backed by a live band. Take a stroll down memory lane to relive or discover for the first time the incredible harmonies and smooth moves made famous by great recording acts including: The Temptations, Gladys Knight and the Pips, The Four Tops, Jackson Five, Smokey Robinson, Aretha Franklin, Diana Ross and the Supremes, Commodores, Stevie Wonder and more.

SINATRA and BASIE At The Sands

Saturday, March 8, 2014, 7:30 p.m.
Over 50 years ago, Larry, Steve, and Rudy Gatlin started singing in their little hometown of Abilene, Texas, and from there went on to make music history. Over the course of a four-decade career that has taken to Gatlin Brothers from dusty Texas stages to White House performances, from Broadway to the Grammy Awards, and to the top of the country charts, there has been one unifying element, music. There's no harmony quite as pure as family harmony. In concert, their performances are simply magical events filled with incredible family harmonies, total professionalism and downright fun for both the trio and their audiences. The first half of their KC performance will feature their greatest hits while the second half will feature a selection of Christmas favorites.

Just in time for a night out with your favorite valentine, comedians Dan St. Paul (A&E, VH-1, Comedy Central), Kelly McDonald (Tonight Show) and Milt Abel (San Francisco Comedy Competition) turn their wit and nutty observations about family life into a show that keeps the audience laughing almost from beginning to end. Each comic performs a routine infused with good-spirited humor along with a little tenderness about parents, wives and cherished, but maddening children. This evening concludes with an audience Q & A. This performance is not recommended for young children.
