Kaskaskia College is proud to announce that Linda Borowiak has been named the new Academic Advisor at the KC Nashville Education Center.
Linda is the daughter of Leonard and Christine Borowiak of Ashley. She lives on the family farm and helps out daily with the family grain and dairy farm operation. She is a 1998 graduate of Nashville Community High School and began taking classes in 2000 at Kaskaskia College to complete her Associate in Arts Degree.
She returned to Kaskaskia College in 2002 to obtain her Associate in Applied Arts with a certificate in Radiology Technology. She graduated from the KC Radiologic Technology Program in 2004 and was also named to the Dean’s List that semester.
After receiving her Radiology Degree she became employed at Good Samaritan Hospital in Mt Vernon as a Student Radiology Tech and in 2004 was hired full time and worked in Diagnostic Imaging, CT and MRI. In Dec 2005 she advanced to a position in the Cardiac Cath Lab where she continues to work as a Cardiovascular Interventional Scrub Tech.
In August 2010 Linda attended Greenville College where she graduated with Honors in December 2011 with a Bachelor’s in Biology and was a Member of Tri Beta. She is actively involved in her community being a volunteer on the Ashley Fire Department as an EMT-B, helps organize and co-chairs the annual St. Michael’s Church Benefit Picnic, plays the organ at St. Michael’s Church, is music director at St. Michael’s Church. She is also employed at St Elizabeth’s Hospital in Belleville working in the Cardiac Cath Lab, Vascular and Electrophysiology Lab.
Linda joined the Kaskaskia College staff as an Academic Advisor in March 2014. Prospective students may call the Nashville Education Center to make an appointment for classes for the upcoming summer and fall semesters at 327-9136.
